Buda Palota
The first office building of the country will be reborn as a multifunctional area. It was built in 1924 based on the plans of Gyula Sándy, and at that time this building was utilized as an office and a telephone centre which served the whole Buda side of the capital. The building survived the siege of Budapest; although, its interior was burnt out, the structure of the building remained intact, and its design engineer was very proud of this fact all his life. The characteristics of the building designed in Art Nouveau style will be preserved during the currently undergoing reconstruction works, but the building will have new and modern functions. One part of this widely known, iconic building will function as the office of MNB Supervision, while another large area will be occupied by the most modern Money Museum of Europe and an economic activity area.
